Contributor - The Newshouse

I began contributing as a writer to The Newhouse, the online news publication affiliated with the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, in the spring of 2024. During my time there, I published three articles, primarily focusing on topics related to social media trends and entertainment news.

One of my most notable assignments was in April 2024, when I covered an off-campus live event at the Westcott Theater on a press pass, featuring a performance by rapper DaBaby. This experience allowed me to hone my skills in event reporting, capturing the energy of the live show while contextualizing it within the broader entertainment landscape.

In addition to event coverage, my work for The Newhouse significantly strengthened my interviewing and investigative reporting skills. For example, in an in-depth piece examining the emerging phenomenon of TikTok Shop, I conducted interviews with social media influencers across multiple cities throughout the United States. These conversations provided a diverse range of perspectives and firsthand insights into the platform’s impact on digital commerce, allowing me to produce a comprehensive and nuanced report.

Overall, my role at The Newhouse expanded my ability to gather and synthesize information from varied sources, craft compelling narratives, and engage audiences through multimedia storytelling.
