Hello! My name is Lizzy Calvo, and I'm a recent graduate of Syracuse University that graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism and a B.A. in English and Textual Studies. I am currently a student of the Columbia Publishing Course, and I expect to receive my certificate in late July.

I grew up in Los Angeles, California, where I devoured stories for as long as I can remember. From obsessively memorizing the Hamilton soundtrack at age 12 to tearing my way through every single Cassandra Clare book with fervor at age 16 to writing my first article at 20, my life has been shaped by a patchwork of storytelling, knit together by my love for impactful writing and visual media.

During my time at SU, I honed my skills in social media management, content creation, writing, journalism, photography, and graphic design, diversifying my background. I've written for The Newshouse, Major magazine, University Girl, Jerk magazine, NCCNews, and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. I had the opportunity to serve as Social Director of Jerk, in addition to serving as Vice President of Marketing for Alpha Gamma Delta. Beyond campus clubs and extracurriculars, I also worked in The Office of Diversity and Inclusion during the entirety of my senior year as a Social Media Intern and interned at TREND PR as a Brand Management Intern.

I now reside in New York City, alongside my many, many books, where when I'm not reading the newest New Yorker article or scrounging in vintage shops, I can be found posting on TikTok, taking a dance class, or trying different matcha spots.
